Wales
exists within the UK as a separate country with its
own history, language and culture. Over the
centuries
Wales has been invaded by the Romans, Saxons,
Vikings and Normans who left their mark on the
region (most of Wales' castles were built by Norman
invaders to keep the rebellious Welsh at bay) but
the Welsh Celtic spirirt has never been broken and
the native Welsh language is one of the oldest
languages still spoken in Europe. The people of
Wales today give a friendly welcome to visitors.
The scenery can be breathtaking from rugged
mountains to rolling pastures, snow capped mountain
ranges, forests, waterfalls, the famous valleys and
a spectacular coast line. Many areas of Wales have
been designated AREAS OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL
BEAUTY. Wales abounds with ancient castles and
monuments, picturesque fishing villages, Victorian
seaside resorts alongside modern cities. Wales has
many ancient myths and legends and was the last
refuge of the druids. We have some suggested travel
itineraries listed below and our tours can depart
from London or Cardiff
